It's Here!

'I'm somebody now! Millions of people look at this ... everyday! This is the kind of spontaneous publicity - your name in print - that makes people. I'm in print! Things are going to start happening to me now. ' - Navin R. Johnson

Spoken like a true genius.

Visit the brand new Ky & Company website to see my name in print, plus much more!

I'm On A(nother) Blog!

For the next two weeks you can find a blip about Ky & Company, as well as a giveaway of one of my lunch bags on this blog dedicated to cool Etsy finds...

...

Because I have loved life, I shall have no sorrow to die.  ~ Amelia Burr

Today my uncle lost a long battle with cancer.

I'm not sharing for condolences, or kind words, or any personal gratification. I, like I believe he was, am at peace with his death. It was the end of a great deal of suffering for a man who never before showed any inkling that he knew the word suffer existed.

I'm sharing because once in a while we are captured by a moment in time, good or bad, that can remind us of the importance of life.

Occasionally the time comes in each of our lives where we must say goodbye to someone we cherish, someone we could not picture our world without. At that time we must find the courage to surround ourselves with the strength of those left here with us and  move forward. We must brush away hurtful tears of sorrow and death and embrace memories of a life well lived and filled with love. We can momentarily experience the pain, but we cannot choose to live in it.

Instead, we must choose life. Choose to live it and love it and feel it. Through the pain and the sorrow and the hurt and the grief. Because that is who we are, the living. And that is who they would want us to be.

Another Day, Another, Well, You Know...

I hate to constantly use the 'busy' excuse, since I'm sure everyone is tiring of hearing it. But, alas, it is the truth and here I am again saying it on my now weekly posts.

It's been warm up here in the Chicagoland area (even with our brief springtime snow) and I'd be a BIG liar if I said I wasn't spending every free minute I have outside with the kids. We've been playing ball/baa, watching ducks/duxxxxs in our pond, counting cars and buses/busssshes as they go by. It is a real treat after months and months in the bitter cold.

We've also been lucky enough to spend some time with friends, go on a few walks, get out all of the bikes/scooters/skateboards and ride ride ride. Plus, Rex just wrapped up a big fundraiser for the American Heart Association’s Jump Rope for Heart where he raised over $200 alone for the cause and helped his class earn the highest amount of all the kindergarteners (thanks to lots of you!). He was so proud!

My indoor time, aside from helping Lucy with her new 'big girl' attitude and growing independence,  has all been spent writing stuff for the Ky&Co website (which should be live soon!) and preparing for a blog interview and giveaway (again, happening soon!). I have been sewing and sewing and sewing, hoping that all my hard work now will pay off when these things are posted.

So, again, another week where I am too busy to offer up our daily shenanigans. Part of me really hopes I will find the time soon, but with summer approaching and Ky&Co staying steady  I'm going to hold off on any promises!

Sorry...

Been busy again.

Well busy...and sick...and teething (molars, yuck)...and not sleeping. Certainly not sleeping.

Here are a few photos of what happened in the past week to keep you up to speed.

Nate & Lucy in the morning.

Rex in the 'Bugz' musical at school.

Some sort of biting bandit struck our fruit basket.
(I had to hide it from her, otherwise the pears stood no chance.)

We perfected the tea party.
(Sorry, monsters, monkeys, and Mommy only.)

And...
we found out baby J is a GIRL!
and
one of our very best friends is getting MARRIED!
and
Ky&Co will be reviewed on a BLOG!

Oh, and
 I painted Lucy's nails...

OMG

Ben & Jerry's Mission to Marzipan is
perhaps the best thing I have ever tasted.
EVER.
Kinda hate them for trying so hard to
ruin bikini season before it starts.

Rex...

...is 6 today!

We celebrated last night with cake (carrot) and gifts (the New Super Mario Bros Wii game and Atlantis legos).  Tonight it's dinner with Mom & Dad (ONLY) at the place of his choice (Red Robin).
Perfect day for a big guy like this one!
