3. Read more (Turbo got me the best gift ever for Xmas...a Kindle...sadly, I am just over half way through my first book and he is now 2 paperbacks into the new year and secretly wishing he put his own name on the super-awesome-no-need-for-trips-to-Borders e-reader.)
4. Organize (those darn toys don't clean themselves, you know...and the kids are pretty bad at it too.)

Cold, Pneumonia, Flu (and a black eye too)
We welcomed December in our usual fashion...by being sick.
Turbo celebrated his b-day with a horrible bug that had him laid out on the couch for 3 days. (Apparently not how he intended to spend it, as he did bunches of complaining about missing work on his birthday and not even being able to enjoy it.)
Last week Lucy had a similar cold that landed her in the ER for a handful of hours. After nearly arguing with the Dr. because we did not think it was congestion that was making our girly so ill they finally gave her a chest x-ray that revealed a 'slight pneumonia' and justified our complaints. (Needless to say I was a little irritated with how often they said she was cute and how little they acknowledged our concerns about her being sick. We know she's adorable, she's ours!)
This week Rex took his turn, barfing his brains out all Sunday, in the ER for IV fluids on Monday, and given the same pneumonia diagnosis on Wednesday. To make matters worse, he bumped heads with another kid while playing on a 'huge snow mountain' at school last week. He was sporting the coolest shiner we've seen in a while as he went through this whole ordeal, cool enough to get lots of comments and stares from the doctors and nurses (including one nurse that asked if we wanted to do a CAT scan...). We were kind of hoping we could retake our Christmas card photo to include the black eye, but since everyone was so sick we had to settle for this...

Reason # 146 to Have Kids - Halloween
Saturday Turbo and I carved pumpkins with our beasties. I hate pumpkin guts, but it turns out Lucy loves them. She and Rex had a blast scraping the insides of theirs, while Nate sat and whined because he inherited my disgust over the slimy innards. Final results, Rex's angry pumpkin, Lucy's girly pumpkin, and Nate's I'm-13-and-I'd-rather-be-doing-anything-else pumpkin.
Sunday we took our little goblins out to pillage the town and rob our neighbors of as much sugary booty as possible. Lucy's 'punkin' was so full we had to dump it out at least twice so she could still carry it and Rex filled a sack and a half of his own chocolaty loot. The best part, Turbo and I immediately get to eat all of the 'undesirables' like Mounds and Sweetarts. Silly kids, they have no idea...

Better Luck Next Time
Turbo & I tried to lose the crew in a corn maze this weekend.
Didn't work, so we bought them cookies and pumpkins instead.
(...Oh, then we went to FL Wedding Part II and I got drunk and barfed in the parking lot, Turbo started a 'belt fight' with his friends, and, in case you couldn't tell, we had so much fun we couldn't do anything on Sunday...)
