Hullabaloo

Friday I was too busy to devote time to my dear blog. Rather than fuss over it, I just decided to take the weekend off. Perhaps use my time to complete the many other projects I have going on at the moment.

Lately I seem to have taken on lots of things. No ones fault but my own, I've always been the kind of person that enjoys being busy. I'm the one that took up knitting because I get bored sitting and watching TV, remember?

So this past weekend, while I didn't blog, I did a ton of things.

I mended some jeans for a friend, sewed a few things for an upcoming gift, and created 'car pillows' for the boys on Friday (I'll post pictures later...). Saturday I did a bit of cleaning, colored eggs, made a pineapple upside down cake, and went to a birthday party for an awesome little 4 year old. I got out baskets, filled baskets, and hid baskets. (Then stayed up until 2 am gabbing with E.B.'s accomplice, A. P.) Sunday I woke at 6 am to the pitter-patter of little feet (better know here as the delicate stomping of baby elephants). I helped search for eggs, played the hot & cold game with frustrated basket searchers, tended to a sick kid, went to dinner with my grandparents in Milwaukee.

Next weekend is no exception to my chaos. Actually, it will most likely be worse and start earlier.

The wedding I have been talking about for months is Saturday...in Lafayette, Indiana. Sometime this week I have to pack for me, the kids, most likely Turbo. I have to wash Otis and get him to Turbo's bro's house without him thinking we are abandoning him (our pooch is very emotional). I have to beg and bribe our friend to check repeatedly on the house. I need a haircut, new makeup, wish I had time to find new shoes. I have to pick up snacks for traveling, pack a bag to feed Lucy for 3 days, compile a first aid kit with all of the potential meds/goods we'll need if someone cuts a finger, gets sick in the car, stung by who knows what, a headache, an allergic reaction, etc. etc. etc...I have to get some booze to store in our hotel room for pre/post party binging, toiletries for a weekend away, a new game to keep the kids quiet in the car.

By the time Friday gets here I'll be exhausted and crabby. I'll be brimming with excitement and anticipation, but loathing the long ride. I'll be stressed about taking Lucy out of town and about spending the $$$ on a mini vacation. I'll be eager to get to the wedding, so eager I'll forget something.

I just hope it's not one of the kids.

What size shoes do you wear/what color do you need?

I know I will have multiple black pairs packed for Rehearsal Dinner that you can borrow for Saturday...

If you don't mind wearing heels that is (I am in midget denial). But I do have some shorter sandal-type heels as well.

Also, I feel your pain on packing for a grown man. I always forget his socks...justice served I say.

Thanks, but I have plenty of shoes that match, including a brand new pair never worn. I just like to shop and sometimes wish I was less impulsive while doing so. (Hence the new shoes still in the box I will wear on Saturday so my husband does not become infuriated and ban me from shopping all together...)

Oh, and about the man-packing...he can live without socks. Turbo packed for me once and was about to send me to Mexico with no undies. Something he swears was not a mistake.
