The Big Day

Today was the day. THE day our little guy got on the bus. All by himself. (He didn't even want us to go, I asked.)

I did well, only cried a couple of tears. Turbo and Nate knew it was coming, so they were harassing me all morning. I barely got one teensy tear out before they were torturing me further with their words. Brats.

Rex did well too it seems. He got off the bus with little memory of the day. Until Nate came home, then he poured out all of the days events to his big bro. (Turbo & I listened from the next room.) Turns our he's got a Turbo and a Nate in his class (we still need to verify that with the teacher, but Rex swears it), he loves the gym, likes his teacher, digs the long bus ride.

All in all he likes it just fine. When we asked if he's planning to go back, he replied about the way we expected him to...he said he'll go back, but as soon as they start giving him homework he's going to quit. We thanked Nate for that one. Then we told Rex he was going to have to deal with the homework for a pretty long time, so he might as well enjoy it while it's easy stuff like reading and writing his ABC's. So far he's agreed to return.
